The Ministry of Sports announced that Iranian national football team players conscripted or undertaking the compulsory military service, will be exempted or released from military service if Iran wins the Asian Cup.

According to ISNA, the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Sports quoted Mohammad Reza Davarzani as saying that the soldiers of the national team have been exempted from the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.

Davarzani, in an interview with journalists, said that according to the announcement by Sardar Kamali , commander and chief of staff of the Armed Forces, all players of Team Melli who are members of the squad are included in the exemption if Iran wins the AFC Asian Cup title.
