GholamHossein Mazloomi was put to rest in Tehran this morning in attendance of thousands of fans and many footballers of his era and teammates.
After a military style parade in Shiroodi stadium , Mazloomi was taken to the cemetery for burial. The mourning precession was lead by his Brother Parviz Mazloomi, his sons and family member’s ceremony

Heshmat Mohajerani, the legendary Team Melli coach “Mazloomi was by far the most lethal Iranian player round the 18 yards box.”
Heshmat Mohajerani “ Mazloomi told me in Montreal Olympic games that he had a dream that he scored in the Olympics, I took that as a good omen, used him ion the Cuba game. Not only Mazloomi was one of the better Team Melli players , he also scored!”

Whenever Gholamhossein was playing for us up front at Taj , we always felt that we are winning. One of most beautiful memories of Gholamhossein Mazloomi in Team Melli was his goal against Kuwait. The ball was crossed to Mazloomi, one of the best headers of the Ball in Iran’s history. Mazloomi jumped to the ball and with his body posture he mislead the Kuwaiti Goalkeeper (Ahmad Al Traboulsi) and wrong-footed him to think that he will head to the right, which was the side that Al Traboulsi jumped, Mazloomi however coolly headed to the left far away from Al Traboulsi who could only watch go into the net away from him. It was like some of the players who wrong-fioot goalkeepers during a penalty kick that you see nowadays, the ball and goalkeeper are two different places.”
