George Markarian: an Armenian-Iranian member of Docharkhe Savaran Tehran, the former Name of Taj, played for Team Melli in 1951 Asian Games. As captain of the squad, he led the team to the silver medal in the Asian Games.
He was also the premier center forward for Taj. This team annually finished number one in the Iranian league while he was a member. He played alongside other Iranian greats like Khatemi, Bivak Jedikar, and Mahmoud Bayati.
