Rasoul Khatibi : A brilliant individual player who has been consistently scoring for the last two seasons at club level. Khatibi always managed to perform at the right stage , where he has been lethal in scoring against the bigger clubs.
From the modest clubs of Tabriz , Khatibi , along with his older brother were drafted in Pas Club where his skills was polished and started performing to a standard that earned him calls to National team at different age levels.
He made his debut for the team in 1999 , however , he never made a real impact with the national team coaches.
Khatibi's biggest problem is his lack of consistency and a strong tendency to work alone and his desire to dribble , especially in front of the goal. He probably holds the unofficial record for the highest ratio of missed goals!
Despite these handicaps , Khatibi remains one of the most skilful forwards in Iran who is not intimidated nor fears any defender and is always ready to dribble the most skillful of players .
In 1999 he was transferred to Hamburg SV and teamed up briefly with Vahid Hashemian and Mehdi Mahdavikia. His career with Hamburg was brief and not successful managing 4 substitute appearances only.
Khatibi played a few games for Esteghlal Tehran in Asian Club championship before transferring permanently to Sepahan Esfahan and winning the League with them for the first time in the club's history.
