One of Rykov discoveries in Taj. The Yugoslav coach picked Maraghechian while 16 and drafted him in the senior team.
Played for Taj before the revolution and then continued his last 2 years of football with Daraei.
He was member of Iran youth team that won the Asian titles 3 times, however he was injured and that injury in 1977 reduced his chances for selection to Team Melli before the FIFA World Cup 1978.
One of the better midfield players in his era.
