After a long saga , this Iranian-German player eventually joined Team Melli and made his debut against Qatar in the World Cup Qualifiers vs. Qatar. It was a dream start for him as he scored within minutes of his debut.
Since the Qatar game , Dejagah has been a regular and making a good impression all around with his display of professionalism and skill. He is also fast becoming a crowd favorite
Dejagah joined English Club Fulham on the last day of the transfer window on 31st August 2012.
Despite scoring some splendid goal although not given enough starting role with the club, Fulham was relegated to the lower division of the English league (the Championship). His season was marred by injury as well, despite that he played 22 games for Fulham in the league scoring 5 gaols with 2 assists to his credit.
Ashkan Dejagah remains the best prospect for Iran in the World Cup. Expected to play a key role from the right flank where his pace and ability to beat his markers and delivery to the forward players , could make a difference.
A disappointing season with relegation of his club and also quite a disappointing World Cup for Dejagah , lead the winger to seek his fortune elsewhere. In July 28th, AL Arabi of Qatar announced that Dejagah is joining them for an undisclosed fee.
After nearly two and a half season in Qatar, Dejagah moved on to Germany to join his old club Wolfsburg in January 2017 on a free transfer.
