Pooladi played all 3 games for Iran U20 at 2006 AFC Youth Championship, as a product of Paykan Tehran. He also made 5 appearances in 2005 Valentin A.Granatkin Memorial - International Youth Tournament for Iran U20. He was a member of Iran U-23, participating in the 2006 Asian Games.
After a series of injury , he recovered well to make the squad for the FIFA World Cup2014 Brazil.
After the first game that ended goalless against Nigeria, Pooladi was identified by FIFA as the second best player in the tournament from his remarkable stats in the match.
With the three games over, Pooladi was at the top of the performance table of Iranian players in the World Cup, something that very few people has predicted.
A solid performance in the World Cup resulted that several European clubs chasing him for the 2014/15 season.
Pooladi had military service issues in late 2014 which the Football federation resulting in a sanction preventing him playing for Team Melli, although he was given a temporary permission to accompany the squad to the AFC Asian Cup 2015.
