Sharifi played his early football in Abadan before getting a break with Pas Tehran.
He was selected for the Team Melli youth team and was part of the squad that won the Asian Youth title in Kuwait in 1975.
Sharifi excelled with Pas in Takht Jamshid league and was the perfect replacement for the retiring Asghar Sharafi in the team.
