Farhad Majidi was a player with immense potential who could not reflect his talents during his appearances for Team Melli. With the presence of the likes of Ali Daei, Farhad Majidi had difficulty battling for a place in the starting lineup. However, the skills of this nifty player and his finishing are beyond doubt.
His lack of strong physique is substituted by constant running and skillful dribbling. This attribute attracted the Austrians and Rapid Vienna recruited him for a season where he played well for his club scoring many goals. However, the asking price for a permanent transfer to Austria was not accepted by the Austrians, and they reluctantly released Majidi who was more than happy to play in Dubai for Al Wasl.
In the UAE league and in combination with his compatriot Ali Reza Vahedi-Nikbakhat, Majidi was the most lethal forward scoring a handful of goals and topping the league chart. Majidi has been unlucky with injuries and was out of action for quite a few matches.
One of the career highlights of Majidi was his short loan to Al-Ain club. Majidi was the star of the semi-final game against Dalian. His goal allowed Al-Ain to reach the final and eventually win the trophy for the first time in history.
At the twilight of his career, Majidi returned back to Esteghlal and earned a once-off recall to Team Melli.
