Lotfi played for Iran Youth Team at the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship.
He started his professional career with Peykan before moving to Esteghlal for a short spell then returned back to his original club.
He has a handful of appearances for Team Melli. He was a well built physique and was towering in defense and midfield.
His headers and tackling was his strongest attributes.
Lotfi was part memeber of the squad that won the Asian Games Gold Medal in 2002
