Janfada was a defender who played for Esteghlal
The late Parviz Dehdari invited a group of young players to Team Melli for the Seoul Olympics qualifiers, one of whom was Saeed Janfada. The skilled and stylish left-winger was one of the new phenomena of Iranian football. Janfada did not play in the game against Kuwait, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Iran, but in the return match, the late Dehdari sent him to the field in the second half to experience his first national game in the 1-0 defeat against Kuwait. A year later, the team went to a training camp in East Germany to participate in the 1988 Asian Cup, and Janfada left the team at the airport, went to the Dutch embassy and applied for asylum. Janfada played in the Netherlands with VVV Venlo. He was off work in this country for two years. Janfada finally joined the small Venlo team in 1990 and was a member of the team until 1994, playing 81 games. He then joined another anonymous team called Rormond, and during his one year with the team, he did not play until his sporting career ended in exile. He was not heard from anymore!
until he was played for VVV-Venlo in the Eredivisie in 1990. Janfada was loaned to Eindhoven in 1994 where he played for one season. He returned back to Venlo in 1995, then in 1996, he moved on to Roermond until retiring in July 1996.
