Born in Abadan he played most of his career in clubs in Tehran.

He played for one season only for Team Melli but his biggest achievement remains the winning goal against Japan in the Asian Games 2002 which lead Iran to win the gold medal. Bayatinia was selected for the Omid Team (U23) in 2002 where he made 8 appearances under Branko Ivankovic. He was subsequently picked for the Senior Team Melli. Bayatinia played for many clubs in his career starting from Pas Teahran from 2001, then Peykan, Esteghlal , Saba and ending up his career in Thailand with Sisaket.
