Haj Mohammad is one of the finest dribblers in Iran’s football history. He was a Taj player and after he was selected for Team Melli where he played two matches only, his career was cut short by injury.
As a young boy, he was not tall enough to be taken seriously to play for a famous club like Taj, however, after a short trial, he was immediately recruited and started playing for Taj affiliate clubs like Afsar, Dihim until his talent and skill compelled the coaches of Taj to introduced him to the senior team.
The star-studded Taj was a very difficult place to earn a starting position for a young man like Haj Mohammad, but through sheer skill and dribbling ability, he forced the selectors to pick him up for the senior team.
A left-winger who was comfortable playing on both flanks, Haj Mohammad scored a memorable individual goal in Iran’s youth team Asian Youth Championship match against Japan. Haj Mohammad dribbled his way from halfway down the field beating every Japanese defender in his way before scoring.
He and Hassan Rowshan, with similar skills, on the flanks created havoc in opposing teams. Haj Mohammad was picked for Team Melli and made his debut against Turkey in the annual OCD Cup. Haj Mohammad scored the equalizer on his debut, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
