Mehdi Lavasani
born in 400 dastgah,(mahaleye shapour), in 1947 in a very well educated family. His father was employee of Ministry of science. Mehdi Lavasani was invited to Tehran Javan team, while still just 16 years old
Two years later,he was transferred to Shoa'a club and function played as a midfielder and defender
Selected for Iran's Youth team. Following his performance in Javan (Youth Team selection), he attracted the interest of Taj club and was transferred to the club after the Yugoslav coach Ryjkoff saw him and encouraged him to join the club.
Lavasani joined Taj in 1967 and played in the left back position when Taj Tehran won the Asian club trophy in 1968 after defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel in the final.
In 1971,he was again in the left back position when Taj club became third in Asian cup championship (after Maccabi Israel and Police of Iraq.
Lavasani joined Pas in 1972 and Oghab in 1973. He was selected for Team Melli and participated in world cup qualifying rounds for Germany 1974. His last game was against Australia,in Sydney where Iran lost 3-0. Lavasani's football career was short lived after he bid farewell at the age of 27 In 1972 , Lavasani was arrested by the authorities for anti-government activities along with his mate, Parviz Ghleechkhani. He was imprisoned and was forced to appear in front of the cameras to to apologize for his anti-government activities.
After his acquittal and in 1975 , Lavasani left Iran to live in the USA.
