غلام‌Øسین مظلومی
One of the most prolific strikers in Iran's football. This Khuzestani player was a free-scoring young player in his native Abadan when the scouts from big Tehran clubs discovered him, Taj was lucky enough to grab him beating the opposition.
Mazloomi continued his amazing scoring run, winning the Asian Club Championship with Taj Tehran in 1968 and ending the competition as the top scorer. That performance was good enough for the selection to Team Melli where he made his debut against Pakistan in RCD cup and scored two goals in his debut while providing two assists for Hossein Kalani in a 4-2 win.
Mazloomi was a great opportunist in front of goal which lead some to call him "the Vulture", but besides his skills with both feet, he had a terrific heading ability. Mazloomi soon became famous for scoring many goals from headers. He led the top scoring charts for 3 seasons with Taj, before winning the Asian Cup in 1972 and repeating the same honor 4 years later in Tehran in 1976.
Mazloomi suffered a long injury in the following year, this injury prevented him from joining Team Melli in its first-ever World Cup in Argentina. Mazloomi retired soon after.
Mazloomi died on 19 November 2014 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer two years earlier.
