Hamid Jasemian was one of the many talented players that have emerged from Khuzestan during the sixties and the seventies. He played for his home team Shahin Abadan in the central defender post. He then moved on to Tehran where he joined Shahin, which at the time was one of the top clubs in Iran. After Shahin was disbanded, he joined Persepolis.
He was recognized Persepolis' first-ever captain.
In 1963, he was selected for the Team Melli squad preparing for the Tokyo Olympics game. He made his debut on Oct 4th, 1963 against Pakistan in Amjadieha Stadium. He played in all the remaining qualifiers until an injury prevented him from completing the last two matches in the qualifiers against India.
Iran won the qualification for the Olympics Games, but Jassemian did not make the squad.
Jassemian passed away from COVID-19 on 25 April 2021 in Tehran aged 88.
