Carlos Queiroz short-listed the name of 23 players for the upcoming matches.

The friendly match against Uzbekistan on 11th June will be followed by the first World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Turkmenistan in 16th June 2015.

The list will be amended after the final of the Hazfi Cup to accommodate Naft Tehran and Zob Ahan players , whose players are absent from the submitted list. Also missing, without any explanation is the name of Ashkan Dejagah , Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Karim Ansarifard. The latter has not been anywhere near Team Melli form , so his exclusion is not a big surprise but both Dejagah and Jahanbakhsh had splendid seasons with their teams.

From the regulars of Team Melli , the other absentees are Amir Hossein Sadeghi , who has not been at top form this season and Hossein Mahini . There will be a few disappointments for some of the players who had a very good season and were on the brink of breaking into  Team Melli final roster. Amongst this category are players such as Soroush Rafei , Saman Nariman-Jahan, Ali Karimi and Ahmad Noorullahei.
