One of the greatest forwards in Iran’s football history, Gholamhossein Mazloomi succumbed to his long illness and passed away in Tehran on Wednesday 19th November 2014. Mazloomi was 64 years old.
The player from Abadan took the country by storm with his goals when he was recruited by Taj (Currently Esteghlal) from Taj Abadan.
Famous for his headers and goals , Mazloomi was also unlucky with injuries which prevented him from representing Iran in the first appearance in the World Cup in 1978.
One of the stars of the Takhte Jamshid league , the first organized professional league in Iran. He won the top scorer title several times with Taj.
