Iran’s U-16 team routed Sri Lanka 8-0 in the opening match of the AFC Asian U-16 championship qualifiers in Lahore, Pakistan.
The match was a one sided affair with the first half ending 5-0 in favor of Team Melli. 3 more goals was scored in the second half for an easy win to the championship contenders. In the other group match , UAE managed to beat host Pakistan 2-0 to share the top of the table , with Iran leading on goal difference.
Iran’s U-16 next match will be on Friday against host Pakistan.
