Iran’s U-17 team played a its second friendly game against Iraq in Shahid Dastgerdi Stadium today. The match ended 1-0 for Iran with a late goal scored by Hossein Mehraban in the 88th minute.

The Iran U-17 team is preparing for the FIF U-17 World Cup to be held in OCtober n the UAE. Iran qualified from the Asian zone. Ali Doustimeher has been coaching the teams from since the qualifying rounds and has selected a large squad while gradually shoer-listing to the ideal number for the tournament.

Mehdi Mahdavikia, who has shown a keen interest in the team , was present in the match and participated in the team briefng and the half time talk.
