Iran’s Omid team landed in Doha’s Hamad Internationa; Airport ahead of the friendly match on Monday against its Australian counterpart.

The match in Al Duhail Stadium at 18:15 local time will be the second under the newly appointed coach Hamid Estili. A few days back Estili lead the team against Padidah (shahr Khodro) which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Estili himself did not accept any coaching capacity in the Omid Team.

“Finally, we reached a conclusion that Majidi was the best candidate and after some time the technical committee of the federation was in need of changes in the technical staff of the Omid team. Estilli was finally selected by the technical committee “.

The head of the Iranian Football Federation said “soon Amir Hossein Peyrovani will be added to the coaching team. I have a lot of hope for this team and Iran’s chances are better than any other opponent and we have a great chance of qualifying for the Olympics and I want the Ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee to support it even more,” said Mehdi Taj.
