Esteghlal striker Gholamreza Enayati gave the new coach the ideal start when he opened the scoring after only five minutes.
The Iranians dominated proceedings in the Asian Cup qualifying warm-up with Javad Kazemian and Mehrzad Madanchi hitting the frame of the goal but were unable to add to the scoreline.
Iran have a busy month ahead with three Asian Cup Group B qualifiers in three weeks. They host Syria in Tehran on August 16 before visiting Korea on September 2 and Syria four days later.
UAE, who lead qualifying Group C with a maximum six points, face a pair of matches against Jordan, in Amman on August 16 and in Dubai on September 6. |
